About us
Jan Koray
My passion for audio engineering began at the age of 14, when I purchased a Fostex R8 tape recorder and a mixing console, then spent countless hours in my basement making music recordings. Back then, I was also using the first Cakewalk sequencer with a 386 PC.
After finishing high school, I completed a degree as a Certified Audio Engineer. I then worked for several years as a sound engineer in mobile broadcasting for various networks and companies. Alongside this, I studied economics at FernUni Hagen. Music was always part of my life, and after my studies, I dedicated more time to it, establishing my own studio and record label. In numerous productions, both my own and others' (Monocular, Tom Liwa, Bardic, Blomqist, and more), I frequently encountered the challenges of digital technology. This led me to experiment extensively with equipment (converters, microphones, preamps, compressors, cables, monitoring, etc.).
Over time, I became more and more involved with audio technology, and eventually, consulting and sales were a natural next step. I personally use many of the products we offer as a musician and producer, or I've had the chance to test them in recording conditions.
From 2012 to 2018, as a partner, I helped build another company into one of Germany's leading pro audio retailers.
With Peakhouse Audio, I’m bringing together all the experience and resources I've gathered over the years, and I plan to expand them even further. Beyond our established focus areas, environmental sustainability is a cause very close to my heart.
