"Signal chains that work. Decisions that last."
Expertise in monitoring, converters, outboard and integration – with consulting that grows out of real studio work and works in day-to-day practice.
How it all started
It didn’t start with a shop, but with music.
With bands, rehearsal rooms, the desire to capture songs – and the realization
that recording and mixing can be just as creative as playing itself.
The passion for audio engineering ignited early: at 14, a
Fostex R8 tape machine and a mixing console were the starting point – and with them countless,
magical hours in the basement, fully immersed in the world of music recording.
Eight tracks, tape tangles, noise – and still that feeling:
you press play and hear something that previously existed only in your head.
At the same time: Cakewalk on a 386, endless render times,
crashes at the worst moment – and nights in which you learned more about
signal flow, levels and decisions than from any manual.
That was 35 years ago!
From then on it kept going in the same direction:
better converters · better monitors · first outboard units · understanding what really changes – and why.
After graduating from school, the next step followed: training as a
graduate audio engineer.
Then a few years of OB truck engineering for broadcasters and companies.
In parallel, studying business administration – the connection between sound and entrepreneurial thinking.
Music remained a loyal companion throughout. After university, an own
studio and record label were founded.
The pursuit of precision led to
countless devices being tested under real conditions –
from converters to microphones & preamps to compressors and monitors –
with one goal:
the ideal balance of sound quality, workflow and reliability.
Many of the topics we help clients with today come directly from that journey:
- the first monitor change that suddenly changes everything
- the converter that makes depth and layering audibly clearer
- the outboard that isn’t better, but simply right
Peakhouse Audio is therefore not a theoretical concept, but the result of years in the studio –
searching for setups that translate reliably and make decisions easier.
