The Audeze MM-520 is a purpose-built open-back planar magnetic reference headphone designed specifically for professional mixing, mastering and recording. Developed in close collaboration with 18-time Grammy-winning mix engineer Manny Marroquin, the MM-520 builds upon the acclaimed MM Series while introducing Audeze's new SLAM™ (Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator) technology. The result is an exceptionally accurate monitoring tool offering improved low-frequency precision, enhanced spatial imaging and even greater midrange accuracy.

The MM-520 features 90 mm planar magnetic drivers with Ultra-Thin Uniforce™ diaphragms, Fluxor™ magnet arrays, Fazor™ waveguides and the new SLAM™ acoustic technology, which optimises air pressure inside the earcups to deliver tighter, more controlled bass while preserving the neutral tonal balance of the MM Series. With an 18-ohm impedance and 102 dB sensitivity, it can easily be driven by professional audio interfaces, headphone amplifiers and mobile production rigs. Magnetic memory foam earpads further improve comfort and simplify maintenance.

Sound Character

The Audeze MM-520 has been engineered with one goal: absolute mix translation.

Its presentation is exceptionally neutral, open and highly resolving. The midrange is remarkably honest, allowing vocals, guitars, pianos and snare drums to be evaluated with confidence. At the same time, the new SLAM™ technology provides noticeably tighter and more articulate low-end reproduction than the MM-500 while maintaining the series' reference-grade tonal balance.

Bass extends effortlessly into the sub-bass region without sounding exaggerated, while the treble remains airy, detailed and fatigue-free. The open-back architecture creates an expansive stereo image with excellent depth and precise instrument placement.

For mixing and mastering engineers, the MM-520 closely replicates the experience of listening through high-end studio monitors in an acoustically treated control room, making critical production decisions easier and more reliable.
